Hotel Krishna

Running Hotel Krishna here in Athwalines keeps me on my toes. We are right across from the Chowpati Petrol Pump, so it’s easy to find if you’re driving through Surat. I’ve lived in this city my whole life and decided to get into the hotel business because I like being where the action is. This area gets quite a bit of foot traffic, especially with the 395001 zip code being so central. It’s a simple setup we’ve got here. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Usually, people just see the sign and pull in. The rooms are what you’d expect for a local place. I try to keep things tidy, though with the dust from the road, it’s a constant battle. My staff is small, just a few local guys who help with the cleaning and the bags. We don't use big words or try to act like we’re something we aren't. It’s just a building with beds. Sometimes the petrol pump across the street gets backed up and things get a bit noisy, but that's just part of being in Athwalines. I usually drink my tea out front in the morning and watch the city wake up. It’s a decent life. We take things one day at a time and try to make sure nobody has any real complaints when they check out. It's not a grand hotel, but it’s ours. We have been in this spot for years and don't plan on moving.
