Hotel Girnar

Hotel Girnar has been sitting here on Old Channi Road in the Chhani area of Vadodara for a while now. Most people know the Navipardi stretch gets a bit crowded, so we’re used to the sound of scooters and cars passing by all day. It’s a plain building, nothing that’s going to win any awards for looks, but it serves its purpose for anyone needing a place to stay or eat. We start our mornings early, usually when the sun is just coming up, checking the rooms and getting the lobby swept. There’s a small group of us who handle everything from the front desk to the kitchen stuff. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that; it's just local folks working here. If a lightbulb goes out or a tap leaks, one of us just goes and fixes it. We’ve got regulars who stop by because they’ve been coming here for years, and we know their names and how they like things. It gets a bit hectic during the festival seasons when more travelers are moving through Vadodara. We just try to stay on top of the laundry and keep the floors mopped. Sometimes we sit outside for a bit when it's quiet just to catch a breeze. It's a simple life here on the road. We don't put on airs or try to be something we aren't. We just provide a spot for people to rest their heads and get on with their journey.
