Hi Tech Transformer is based in the Sachin Tarun Bharat Society. It’s more of a workshop than a shop. We spend our days surrounded by coils of wire, metal casings, and oil. It’s heavy work and our clothes usually end up with some stains by the end of the shift. We work on transformers, mostly repairing them or putting new parts in. It’s not the cleanest environment, but it’s where we get the job done. The society area is quiet enough for us to focus, though there’s always the sound of tools clanking. We’ve been at this for a long time. There are just a few of us here who understand how these machines work. We don't have a front desk or a receptionist. If someone comes by, they usually just walk into the work area to find us. We have stacks of iron cores and copper wire in the corners. It takes a lot of patience to get the windings right. Sometimes a job takes much longer than we thought it would. We just keep working until it’s right. It’s a practical business. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where our workshop is in Sachin. It’s a lot of manual labor and technical stuff mixed together. We just try to get the units back to the customers so they can get their power running again.
