Gokul General Store

Gokul General Store is right here at Shop No. 1 in the Sharthak Residency. We are on Pal Gam Road, which is pretty close to Palanpur Jakat Naka in Surat. It’s a busy corner of town, and there’s always cars and bikes zooming past our front door. Living and working in this part of Surat means you get used to the noise. We started this shop to provide things people need every day without them having to go too far. Most of the morning is spent checking the stock of grains and soaps. We keep the place pretty simple, with metal shelves and a small counter. The residency is a big building, so we see a lot of the same people living upstairs coming down for a quick item. Sometimes the heat in Surat gets to be a bit much, so we keep the fan running all day long. We aren’t trying to do anything huge, just running a small business on Pal Gam Road. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting, but that’s how a general store works. We try to keep things where people can see them. Near Palanpur Jakatnaka, things are always growing and new buildings are coming up. We just stay in our spot and keep the shop open. It’s just us doing the daily work, day in and day out, nothing complicated.
