Dalal & Sons

Dalal & Sons has its place on the GIDC Main Road, right near Chhakkapir Gali. My father started this business, and now we carry it on together. It’s an industrial area, so things are pretty dusty and loud most of the time. We deal with various supplies that local workshops and factories need. Our warehouse is right behind the main office, and it’s usually filled with crates and heavy items. We don’t really spend money on fancy decorations because that’s not what our customers care about. They just want to know if we have what they need in stock. We spend a lot of time on the phone talking to suppliers or checking invoices at our old wooden desks. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow lane, which causes a bit of a headache, but we manage. It’s a family-run operation, so we don’t have strict corporate rules. If someone needs something urgently, we stay back a bit late to help them out. The GIDC area has changed a lot over the years, but we’ve stayed in the same spot. We know the other business owners around here, and we all just try to get through the workday. It’s hard work, but it’s what we know. We just focus on getting the right parts to the right people without making it complicated. This is just a plain, honest business and that is how we like it.
