Chunilal Ni Mithai

Our shop, Chunilal Ni Mithai, is located at Surat 7-133/134. It’s a place that has seen a lot of years. If you walk inside, you can smell the sugar and the ghee right away. It’s not a modern building with glass walls. It feels like an old part of the city because it is. We spend most of our hours in the back where the big pots are. There is always steam in the air and someone is usually stirring something on the stove. We don't use fancy machines for everything; a lot of it is just hands and simple tools. At Surat 7-133/134, the space is tight, especially when customers are lining up during the festival times. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the floor gets a bit sticky. That's just what happens when you work with sweets all day long. Chunilal Ni Mithai is just a local spot where we show up, do the cooking, and sell what we made. We don't have a marketing team or anyone telling us how to look professional. We just wear our regular clothes and get to work. People come in and chat for a bit, then take their boxes and head out. It’s a simple cycle. We’ve been in this exact spot for so long that the walls probably have stories to tell. It’s just a regular business run by regular people.
