Cambridge Fabrics

Cambridge Fabrics is situated at Adajan Dn 28. If you have been around this part of town, you might have walked past us a dozen times. We deal with a lot of different materials and rolls of cloth. It can get pretty heavy moving them around, but we manage. The shop is not very large, so we have to use every bit of wall space we have. Sometimes the rolls are stacked right up to the ceiling. It smells like fresh cotton and dye in here most days. We do not have any fancy displays, just the fabrics and us. Some of the edges of the counters are a bit worn down from years of use. We do not mind. It shows we have been working hard. We get a lot of local folks coming in looking for something specific for their homes or for a project they are working on. We try to help them find the right piece, even if it takes a bit of digging through the piles. It is not a high-end boutique, just a place where you can get good fabric without a lot of fuss. We usually have the radio playing in the background while we work. It is a quiet enough life, mostly just measuring and cutting. We like it that way. No big speeches or promises, just the work we do every day. We are just here doing our thing on the corner. (248 words)
