Banaras Sweet Mart

Our shop is located in Pandesara Sector 1 at number 26. It is a busy residential area, so we get a lot of foot traffic throughout the day. We have been making sweets here at Banaras Sweet Mart for a while now. The kitchen area in the back is where most of the work happens. You can hear the scrapers on the big iron pans from the street sometimes. We focus on the traditional stuff that people in this part of Pandesara grew up eating. It’s not a place where you’ll find fancy fusion desserts or anything like that. Just regular laddoos, pedas, and some savory snacks for the evening. The shop is small, so it gets cramped when more than three people are inside. We have a couple of glass display cases that we try to keep clean, but the dust from the road makes it a constant chore. During the festivals, we stay open much later than usual and the whole family comes in to help pack boxes. We don’t have a website or do any online orders. People just know where we are and they stop by when they need something sweet for their home. It is a straightforward business and we like the people who live around here. We just try to keep the trays full and the stove going every morning. Sometimes the flies are a bit of a nuisance when the weather changes, but we do our best with the screens. It’s just how things are in a busy market area like this one.
