Amardeep General Stores

Our shop, Amardeep General Stores, is located at 24 Pragati Nagar, right on the Vijay Nagar Road in Katargam. It is a pretty busy spot, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading out to work or school. We have been here for a good number of years, just doing our thing and serving the people who live around this part of Surat. The road outside is always full of bikes and cars, so it’s never really quiet. Inside the store, we keep all the usual things you’d expect—milk, bread, snacks, and some basic household items. We don't have a huge space, so things can get a little cramped when we get a big delivery in. Most of our customers are neighbors who have been coming to us for a long time. They know where everything is, sometimes better than we do. We don't use any fancy systems or have a big team of staff; it’s just us making sure the shelves aren't empty. Katargam is a place where people work hard, and we try to do the same. The shop isn't anything special to look at, just a regular local store with old shelves and a counter that’s seen a lot of use. But it works for us and for the people who stop by. We just take it one day at a time, keeping the basics in stock for the neighborhood. It’s a simple life, and we are okay with that.
