Travel A World

Our office is located over in Durganag, right by the Dalgate area in Srinagar. If you know the neighborhood, it's pretty central and stays busy with all the houseboats and people walking around. We started Travel A World to help folks figure out their trips. It’s not a big corporate office or anything like that. Just a couple of us working from this spot near the gate. We deal with a lot of questions about how to get around the valley. Sometimes people want a car for the day, or they’re trying to find a specific hotel that isn't showing up right on their maps. We do our best to point them in the right direction. Living in Srinagar means you get used to the rhythm of the seasons. Winters are slow and we spend more time just keeping the place warm, but when spring hits, it’s a whole different story. We handle a lot of paperwork and phone calls. It can be a bit chaotic when the internet is acting up, which happens more than we'd like. We don't use any fancy scripts when we talk to people. We just tell them what we know about the roads and the prices. It's a local business through and through. Most of our neighbors are also in the travel trade, so we’re always bumping into people we know. Our desks are usually covered in notes and old receipts, but we know where everything is.
