Rim Jim Holidays

Srinagar is a place where everyone seems to be involved in tourism one way or another. At Rim Jim Holidays, we just do our part from our small corner of the city. We don't have a fancy office with glass walls. It's just a room with some chairs and a desk that has seen better days. Srinagar changes so much between the summer and the winter, and our work follows those changes. In the busy months, the phone never stops, and we are constantly talking to drivers or checking if a room is actually available like they said it was. It’s a lot of coordination. We’ve lived here our whole lives, so we know the shortcuts and which roads get blocked when there’s a bit of rain. People come to us because they want to see the sights, and we just try to make that happen. Sometimes the internet is slow, or the electricity goes out, and we have to do things the old-fashioned way with a ledger and a pen. It’s not a polished operation, but it’s real. We spend our lunch breaks eating together and talking about how much the city has grown. By the time we close up for the day, we’re usually pretty tired, but that’s just the nature of the business here. We just keep at it, day after day, trying to help people enjoy their time in this part of the world.
