New Flower Garden

New Flower Garden is located right out on the open Dal Lake, near the Nehru Park area in Srinagar 190001. Working here is different from being in a normal building on a street. Since we are on the water, everything feels a bit slower and the air is always a little damp. You have to take a boat to get to us most of the time, which is just part of the daily routine. In the mornings, the lake is very quiet before the tourists start arriving at Nehru Park. I usually sit by the window and watch the other boats go by while I check the schedules. The wood of the floorboards sometimes creaks when you walk across the room. We have some plants sitting on the ledge that seem to like the lake air. It is not a huge space, but it fits what we need. We spend our time talking to the boatmen and organizing things for people staying nearby. Sometimes the water level gets high when it rains a lot, and we have to keep an eye on things. It is a nice spot though, especially when the sun starts to go down over the mountains. We do not have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics like a desk and some chairs to keep the business running. It is a simple life on the lake and we like being near Nehru Park.
