We’ve been here at the Baba Building on Residency Road for a while now. It’s on the second floor, right near the HDFC Bank if you’re looking for us. My name is one of the folks here and we handle travel stuff around Srinagar and the rest of Kashmir. People come in mostly asking about cars or how to get to Gulmarg or Pahalgam without getting lost. We spend most of our days on the phone or talking to drivers. It gets busy during the summer months, and the office can feel a bit small then. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the traffic on Residency Road makes everyone run late. It’s just how things are here in the city. We don't have a fancy setup, just some desks and a lot of maps. Most of us grew up here, so we know the roads pretty well. If someone needs a ticket or a place to stay, we look through what’s available. It's a lot of coordination. We’ve seen the tourism seasons change over the years. Some years are packed and others are quiet. We just keep the doors open and help whoever walks up the stairs. It’s a straightforward job, really. We talk to locals and visitors every day. Usually, there's tea on the table and some papers scattered around. We just try to get people where they need to go. Residency Road is always loud, but inside we just focus on the bookings.
