We are Johansen Travel Agency, and you can find us in the Dalgate area of Srinagar. Specifically, we are located near Hotel Hayat in Kohan Khan. It’s a part of the city that has a lot of character, even if it gets a bit crowded sometimes. We aren't a big name you’ll see on the television; we are just a local travel office. We’ve been here for a good while, helping people navigate their way through Kashmir. Most of our day is taken up with the usual things—arranging cars, booking rooms, and answering a lot of questions about the weather. We don't have a fancy mission statement or anything like that. We just come in, open the office, and start working. We know the local drivers and we know which houseboats are decent, so we just pass that information along. Dalgate is a busy place, but being near Hotel Hayat gives us a good spot to operate from. We don't use a lot of sales talk. If we can get you a car for a fair price, we tell you. If we can't, we don't. It’s a very straightforward way of doing business. We are just a few people who live and work in Srinagar, and we enjoy helping visitors see the sights without too much trouble. It isn't a perfect science, but we do our best to keep things moving smoothly. Kohan Khan is home to us, and we like it here.
