This office is located in the Kathimadan area of Alamgari Bazar, right in the heart of Srinagar. Since we are part of the government, we deal with a lot of people from all over Kashmir. We have a lot of files and desks piled high with papers that need signatures or stamps. We don't have fancy furniture or a modern look, just the basic stuff you need to get the job done. Lunch breaks are usually spent chatting with coworkers about local news or what's happening in the city. It’s a steady kind of life, working for the state and seeing the same faces in the halls. We just show up, do the hours, and head home like everyone else in the neighborhood.
