We are situated in the City Tower on the first floor which is right at Khayam Chowk. If you look out across the street you can see the Khyber Hospital which is always busy with people. Being in this part of Srinagar means there is always a lot of movement and noise from the cars and the people walking around the chowk. Our office isn't very large but we managed to fit everything we need into the space. We do a lot of work over the phone and via email dealing with different tours and travel stuff for people coming through the city. It’s a good location because it is easy to explain to people where we are located. On the first floor we get a bit of the street noise but it isn't too bad once you get used to it. We don't really do anything fancy here, just sit at our desks and try to make sure every booking is correct. Sometimes we have tea together in the afternoon and talk about how the city is changing or what the weather is going to do. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed even when we have a lot of work to finish. We are just a group of people working together to help travelers find their way around and get their tickets and hotels sorted. It’s a steady job and we’ve been at this spot for a while now, seeing the same faces in the hallway every day.
