India Travel Makers

India Travel Makers is based on the New Blue Jay Houseboat. We are located in Srinagar 190001, right behind Nehru Park. Working from a houseboat is a bit different than a regular shop on land. You can feel the boat move slightly when the water is choppy or when another boat passes by. The interior is all wood, which gives it a specific smell that I have grown to love. We have our office set up in one of the rooms towards the back. It is a quiet spot even though Nehru Park is just a little way off. Most of our day is spent looking out at the water or talking to guests who are staying on the boats nearby. We do not have a big fancy sign, just the name of the houseboat and our little workspace inside. The wooden floorboards are covered with rugs to keep the chill away. We spend a lot of time on our laptops or talking to the shikara pullers who help move people around the lake. It is a peaceful way to work, even when we are busy with bookings and travel plans. Sometimes we have tea on the deck when the weather is nice. It is not a high-pressure corporate environment, just a small operation on the lake trying to keep things organized. We like being tucked away behind the main park area where it is a bit calmer.
