Essence Tours

Essence Tours is right across from the Mughal Garden in Shalimar. It's a pretty nice spot to be, especially when the flowers are in bloom and the tourists start showing up in Srinagar. We spend a lot of our time just looking out the window at the crowds near the gardens. Our office isn't anything to write home about, just a small room with a couple of desks and a lot of phone chargers. We’ve been in this 190001 area for a long time. Usually, it's just two of us handling the phones and the walk-ins. It gets a bit loud when the school buses go past, but that's just how it is in Shalimar. We don't have a big marketing team or a polished website that looks like a magazine. We just talk to people, tell them which gardens are worth seeing and which roads are too bumpy right now. Most of our work is just organizing cars and making sure drivers show up on time. It’s not glamorous. We deal with flat tires and changed plans just like everyone else. Sometimes people get lost looking for us, but if you find the Mughal Garden, you’re basically there. We’re just local folks trying to keep a small business going in a beautiful part of the world. It’s practical work for practical people.
