Dar Tour & Travels

We are right opposite the J & K Bank here in Srinagar. It is a very easy spot to find if you are walking around the main area. Dar Tour & Travels has been operating from this location for quite some years. We are basically a small family setup. We don't have a fancy website or a huge marketing budget. Mostly, we just talk to people who walk in off the street or call us up because they saw our sign near the bank. We arrange cars for trips to Sonamarg, Gulmarg, and other places around the valley. Sometimes we help with houseboat bookings too if someone asks. The office is pretty simple, just some chairs and a desk where we keep our logs. We know most of the drivers personally, which helps because we know who is reliable and who knows the backroads. There are days when the phone doesn't stop ringing and days when it's completely quiet. That's just how the tourist business works here. We don't try to push people into things they don't want. If they just want a car for a day, that's what we give them. We like to keep things honest and clear so there are no surprises later on. It's a decent way to make a living and we get to meet many different types of people from all over who want to see the mountains.
