We operate Burlington Travels out of the Ismail Complex in Karan Nagar. If you know where the petrol pump is in that area, then you’ve basically found us because we are right near it. Karan Nagar is one of those places that never seems to stop moving, and being near the petrol pump means there’s a constant stream of cars and people. The Ismail Complex is where we spend our working hours, sitting at our desks and going through all the bookings. It’s a straightforward office environment without any unnecessary fluff. We focus on the logistics of travel, which means a lot of time spent on the computer and talking to people on the phone. Sometimes the office gets a bit dusty from the road outside, but we just clean it up and keep going. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us who know the business well. We like the convenience of this location because it’s easy for anyone in Srinagar to get to. There’s no corporate manual here; we just talk to people like neighbors and try to be helpful with their travel needs. It’s a local operation through and through, and we’re happy to be part of the Karan Nagar community. The days go by fast when you’re busy with schedules. We just sit here by the petrol pump and watch the world go by while we work on our records and itineraries. We enjoy the work.
