Most of our working day is not actually spent sitting at 355 in Qutab Vihar Phase 2, but instead we are out on the road moving between Najafgarh and Dwarka. Since this is a door-to-door service, the whole business is basically packed into a few heavy bags that we carry around with us from house to house. It involves a lot of traveling through the Chhawla area and trying to navigate the traffic so we can get to the next person’s home without being too late. When we are not out on a call, we are back at our base cleaning the wax heaters and making sure we have enough thread and creams for the next day. It is a very different way of working because you never know what the setup will be like until you get inside. One day we might be working in a wide-open living room and the next it could be a small, cramped corner of a bedroom, but we always find a way to make it work. The bags feel quite heavy by the time the evening rolls around and we have walked several blocks or taken a few buses. We started this because many people in this part of Najafgarh prefer the convenience of having someone come to them. It keeps us moving constantly from one phase of the neighborhood to another. We spend a lot of time checking our phones for new messages and planning out the quickest routes.
