Govt High School Thane

Our school is located on the first floor at F 2 in the Nilgiri Hills area of Dhavli, which is part of Ponda in Goa. It’s a government-run high school, so we keep things very simple here. We don't have a big campus with sprawling fields like you might see in some advertisements. Instead, we have our classrooms tucked away in this building where we do our best to teach the local kids every day. It can get a bit crowded in the hallways during the morning rush when everyone is trying to get to their desks. Being up on the first floor gives us a bit of a view, though mostly we’re just looking at the other buildings and the hills nearby. The furniture is the basic wooden type that’s been around for quite a few years, and some of it has definitely seen better days. The teachers here are mostly busy with their lesson plans and all the paperwork that comes with a government job. We don't have any shiny brochures or a professional website to show off. It’s just a place where students come to learn their subjects and prepare for their exams. On rainy days, the sound on the roof is quite loud, but we just raise our voices and keep going. It’s a very practical, everyday kind of school where everyone knows each other and we just get on with the business of education without any grand pretenses.
