Uma Shankar Engineers

We are over in the Okhla Industrial Area, specifically Phase-I at C-143. If you’ve ever been to Okhla, you know how it is. It’s dusty, loud, and there are trucks everywhere. Uma Shankar Engineers has been part of this landscape for quite some time. The building is solid but shows its age, which is fine by us. We spend our days dealing with machine parts and engineering tasks. The floor is usually covered in a bit of oil or metal shavings, no matter how much we sweep. It’s an honest place to work. We have a small office section where the phone sits, but most of the action happens out in the back. Our neighbors are all doing similar work, so there’s a lot of clanking and grinding sounds throughout the day. We don't have a receptionist or a coffee machine that makes lattes. If you want tea, we send someone to the corner shop. It’s a straightforward operation. We focus on the jobs that come in and try to get them finished without any fuss. The guys on the shop floor have been doing this for years and they know their way around the lathes and drills. It’s not the kind of place you’d wear a suit to. We wear work clothes that can get dirty because that’s just the nature of the business here in Okhla.
