Ast.Safety Engineer

My workspace is located at B 38 in the Freedom Fighter Enclave. It is right off Ignou Road in Nebsarai, which can be a pretty crowded part of New Delhi most days. I spend most of my time looking over safety protocols and making sure that work sites aren't taking risks they shouldn't be. It’s not the kind of job that gets a lot of praise, but it is necessary to keep people from getting hurt. My office is basically a room filled with hard hats, safety vests, and a lot of thick manuals about building codes. I've worked in this field for a long time, so I’ve seen just about every mistake a crew can make. Being in Delhi, there is always some new project starting up, so I am constantly moving from one place to another. When I am not out on a site, I am back at the enclave writing up reports or checking through new regulations that the government put out. It’s just me here, so I handle everything from the phone calls to the filing. The traffic on Ignou Road is always a bit of a nightmare, but you get used to it after a while. I don't use any fancy marketing or have a big sign outside. People usually find me through word of mouth when they need an engineer to sign off on their safety plans. It’s just a practical, everyday job.
