S A Shawl

Our place is tucked away in Nizamuddin West at B-45A. It’s a quiet enough neighborhood, which is a nice change from the main roads. We deal in shawls and textiles. If you walk into our space, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of wool and the stacks of fabric everywhere. We don't have a big fancy storefront with mannequins. It’s more of a home-based feel where we keep our collection. Most of the people who come to see us are looking for something specific, something that feels real. We spend a lot of time checking the weaves and the patterns. It’s quiet work, mostly. We have tea with our visitors and talk about the different styles from different regions. It isn’t a fast-paced business. You can’t rush looking at a good shawl. We've been here for years, and the neighbors all know us. Sometimes we are busy packing orders to send out, and other times we are just sitting and sorting through new stock. We like the pace of life in Nizamuddin. It has a certain soul to it that matches the kind of things we sell. S A Shawl isn't a big corporation. It’s just us and our love for these fabrics. We don't use fancy words to describe what we have. If a piece is good, you can see it for yourself when you touch the wool. That’s usually enough for most people who appreciate the craft of a well-made wrap.
