Designer Buttons

Our place is in Nehru Place, in building number 87. We are up on the first floor in room 101-C at the CCI building. Nehru Place is always a bit chaotic, and our building is no different. We deal with buttons, all kinds of them, for Designer Buttons. There are boxes stacked up to the ceiling in some corners. It’s not a very big space, so we have to be careful where we step. We spend a lot of time counting stock and looking at different materials. The light in here isn't the best, so we have some extra lamps on the tables to see the colors properly. People come in looking for very specific things for their garments. Sometimes we have to spend an hour just finding the right match for a single coat. It’s a lot of small details. The elevators in the building are sometimes out of order, so the stairs get a lot of use. You can hear the hum of the city from the window, which stays open most of the time to let some air in. We don't have a sales team or anything like that. It’s just us handling the orders as they come. It’s a bit cramped but it works for what we do. We’ve been in Nehru Place for a while now and we know how the market flows. The tea man comes around twice a day and that’s usually when we take a small break from sorting through the bins.
