Moon Light Shawls

We have been running things here in the basement at D-203 in Lajpat Nagar 1 for a good while now. It is situated right near the Gurudwara, so most people can find us easily if they know the local landmarks. Being in a basement has its ups and downs, but it stays relatively cool in the summer heat, which is a relief when you are moving heavy stacks of fabric all day long. We deal with shawls, mostly. My family has been involved in this kind of work for generations, so we just decided to keep the tradition going in this spot. It is a small space, really, and it is usually packed to the ceiling with different types of wraps and woolens. People mostly come in looking for something specific to wear for a family wedding or just to keep the chill off when the Delhi winter finally arrives. We do not have any fancy neon signs or bright showroom lights. It is just the stock we have and a couple of old stools for people to sit on while they look through the piles. Some days are quite busy with folks coming from the main market, while other days it is just us sitting here and reorganizing the shelves. We try to keep things simple and practical. If you are walking past the Gurudwara, you just head down the short flight of stairs to find us. It is not a huge place, but we usually have what people are looking for.
