Bmb Buttons

Over at 161 Sukhdev Vihar, we spend most of our days surrounded by thousands of tiny things. Bmb Buttons is our little operation here in New Friends Colony. It’s a nice enough area, though parking can be a real headache for anyone coming to visit us. We’ve got shelves piled high with boxes. If you’re looking for a specific type of button, it’s probably buried somewhere in one of those stacks. We started this because there was a need for good supplies in the local garment trade. It isn't a glamorous job, counting out pieces and making sure the colors match what the customer asked for. My hands are usually busy sorting through stock while the radio plays in the background. We don't have a huge staff, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. Sometimes we get orders that are a bit unusual, and we have to spend the whole afternoon searching through the back room. The lighting in the shop isn't the best, but we manage. We aren't trying to be some big fashion house; we just provide the bits and pieces that hold clothes together. It’s steady work. We open up early and stay until the sun goes down. Most of our regulars are tailors or small boutique owners from around Delhi who have been coming to us for years. We just keep our heads down and do the work as it comes. It is simple and it keeps us going every month.
