Our place is located at Plot No. 78 in Phase IV of Udyog Vihar. If you know the area, you know it’s mostly just rows of industrial buildings and warehouses. It’s not exactly a place for a Sunday stroll, but it’s perfect for the kind of engineering work we do. The building is a bit grey and plain on the outside, and the inside isn't much different. We have a lot of space for our equipment, which is what matters most to us. We aren't interested in having a fancy lobby with leather sofas. Instead, we have a couple of sturdy tables and a bunch of blue-prints lying around. The air usually smells a bit like metal and machine oil, which is something you just get used to. We start early in the morning before the traffic in Udyog Vihar gets too bad, and we usually stay until the sun starts to go down. It’s a long day, but the work is steady. We don't have any big slogans on the walls. We just have a calendar and a list of things that need to be finished. Most of us have been working together for years, so there’s no need for formal meetings. We just talk over tea and get on with it. It’s a simple, hardworking life, and we are fine with that. It works for us.
