Our office is tucked away on the 3rd floor at 157 Vino Bha Puri in Lajpat Nagar II. Being in New Delhi means it’s always busy outside, and this part of Lajpat Nagar is no exception. The climb up to the third floor keeps us fit since there isn’t always a working lift nearby. D B Engineering Pvt Ltd is a small operation. We have a few rooms filled with desks, computers, and a lot of technical manuals that have gathered some dust over the years. It’s a bit cramped when everyone is in at the same time, but we make it work. You can hear the sounds of the market and the metro not too far off. We usually bring our own lunches and eat together at the big table in the middle. It’s not a fancy corporate headquarters with a lobby. It’s just an old building where we spend our eight or nine hours a day. Sometimes the light in the hallway flickers, and we keep meaning to fix it, but there’s always more engineering work to finish first. We know the guy who sells snacks at the corner and the postman who brings our mail. It’s just a regular Delhi office life for us, nothing particularly special or flashy about it, just the way we like it.
