Our office is at B-1/45 in Safdarjung Enclave. It’s a nice enough area, though finding a place to park your car is almost impossible most days. Cinturones Alvi (India) Pvt. Ltd. is where we spend most of our waking hours. The name sounds a bit grand, but the reality is just a bunch of us working around desks piled high with leather samples and folders. We deal with belts and accessories, so there is always that specific smell of leather in the air when you walk in. It’s a smell I’ve grown to like over the years. We spend a lot of time talking to the factory people and then relaying that information to the clients. It’s a lot of back and forth on the phone and through messages. The office isn't very big, so we're all pretty close to each other. Sometimes it gets a bit noisy when everyone is talking at once. We usually have a short break in the evening for some chai and biscuits. We don't really do the whole corporate culture thing; it's more like a family business atmosphere here. We just try to make sure the designs are right and the production is moving along like it should. It’s a lot of small steps to get one product finished and shipped out. We just take it one day at a time here in Delhi.
