Asian Treasures

Our place is located at Premises No 842 along M G Road. If you know the Mehrauli Ghitorni area, you know it’s a spot with lots of different shops lined up. We have been here for a bit, surrounded by all sorts of things that people call treasures. It's a big space but it fills up fast. Every week it seems like something new arrives and we have to find a spot for it on the floor. It’s not a very polished setup, just rows of items and a lot of dust sometimes. We spend most of our mornings moving things around so people can actually walk through the aisles. M G Road is always noisy with cars, but inside the shop, it feels different. We don't really do big advertisements. Most people just stop by because they were driving past and saw something in the window. We handle the items ourselves and try to keep track of what’s in stock. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting crates and unpacking boxes. Some days are slow and we just sit and drink tea while waiting for someone to pop in. Other days it’s a bit of a rush. We don’t try to be anything we aren’t. It’s just a shop in Ghitorni where we keep things that we think are interesting. You never really know what you’ll find in the back corners of the shelves. There is always some old piece of furniture or a decorative item that has a bit of history to it.
