Trimurti Hair Cutting Salon has been a part of this neighborhood for a long time. The building is old, and the stairs have a bit of a creak to them, but it’s sturdy. Inside, it smells like talcum powder and that green aftershave everyone used to use. I like the old ways of doing things. I use a straight razor for the shaves, and I take my time with it. There’s no rush here. If the bench is full, men just lean against the wall and talk about the local news or the weather. Solapur gets very hot, so the shade inside the shop is a relief for many. I’ve seen the street outside change a lot over the years, but the salon stays mostly the same. The scissors have a specific clicking sound that I’ve grown used to. It's a steady life.
