The Chirst International School

The Chirst International School is located out in Borwati, right on the road that connects Ambajogai and Latur. It is a bit of a dry area, so it gets very dusty when the wind picks up across the plains. The school stands out because there isn't much else around it for a little while. We have students who come from the nearby villages and from Latur city itself. The building is a simple rectangular shape with a flat roof. During the day, the sun beats down pretty hard, so we rely on the ceiling fans to keep the classrooms comfortable. We have a bit of a yard where the buses park and the kids play during their free time. It’s mostly just hard ground and some patches of grass. Inside, the walls are painted a light color to keep things bright. We have a small library where the books are a bit old but still readable. The teachers here have to be quite dedicated because it is a bit of a journey for some of them to get to work. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls, just some charts that the students made for their science projects. It is a quiet place most of the time, except when the school bell rings and everyone rushes for the exit. We just focus on giving the kids a place to study and grow up without any of the big city distractions around us.
