Swad Motton Bhojanalay

We are located on Hyderabad Road in Solapur. If you know where the Chak De Hotel is, we are just right near it. This is a small bhojanalay and we mostly focus on mutton dishes. It’s the kind of food we grew up eating in this part of Maharashtra. We don't use any fancy machines to cook. Everything is done on a regular stove with spices we grind ourselves every few days. The place is quite small and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we spend most of our time in the kitchen anyway. My brother and I run the whole show. He goes to the market early to pick the meat and I stay here to get the fires started. We have a lot of truck drivers who stop by because we are on the main road heading out of town. They want something heavy and spicy to keep them going. We don't have a big printed menu, we just tell people what we have cooked for the day. Usually, it's mutton rassa with bhakri. It’s simple, honest work. We don’t have air conditioning, just a couple of old fans that move the air around. It gets smoky sometimes when we are busy, but that’s just how a real bhojanalay is. We aren't trying to be a five-star hotel. We just want to serve good mutton to local people.
