Asara Restaurant

We are located out on the Pune Pandharpur Road, right in the Malsiras area of Solapur. It’s a long stretch of highway, and things can get pretty dusty with all the trucks and buses rattling past our front door all day long. The sun hits the front of the building pretty hard in the afternoons, so it gets quite warm inside despite the fans we have running. We mostly see people who are traveling between the cities and need a place to sit down for a minute. The floors are made of simple tile that we have to mop a few times a day because of all the dirt that gets tracked in from the road. We aren't a big operation, just a few of us here making sure the food is ready and the water is cold. Most of our day is spent in the kitchen or standing by the counter waiting for the next vehicle to pull over. It’s a quiet life in some ways, but it stays busy enough to keep us on our feet. We don’t have much in the way of fancy furniture, just sturdy tables that can handle the wear and tear of a roadside stop. When the sun finally goes down, the air cools off a bit, and we can finally breathe before we start cleaning up for the next morning's rush. It's just a regular spot for folks on the move.
