Roopam Hair Cutting Saloon

The shop sits right at Shop No. 11 and 12 in the Mantri Chandak Bihar complex. If you know Asara Chowk on Hotgi Road, you’ve probably seen us near the Balaji Sarowar. We’ve been here in Solapur for a good while now. Every morning starts about the same. I get here early, open the shutters, and give the floor a quick sweep before the first person walks in. It’s not a fancy place with bright neon lights or anything like that. We have our chairs, the mirrors are a bit old but clear enough, and there is always a radio playing somewhere in the background. Most days it’s just the sound of scissors snipping and people talking about the weather or local news. Outside, the traffic on Hotgi Road keeps moving, but inside it’s a bit slower. We handle haircuts and shaves for whoever walks through the door. Sometimes it’s busy and people have to sit on the bench and wait their turn while reading an old newspaper. Other times it’s quiet enough to have a cup of tea between jobs. The Balaji Sarowar is right across, so we see people going there too. It is just a regular hair cutting saloon where we do the work, keep the tools clean, and try to make sure nobody leaves with a crooked sideburn. That’s pretty much how it goes every day here at the shop. We just stick to what we know.
