Prasann Salon

Prasann Salon has been in Solapur for a good number of years now. We are right in the 413001 area, which is pretty central to everything. I remember when I first opened the doors, I wasn't sure if people would come, but they did. It is just me and another person most days. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, but people know where to find us. The chairs are old but comfortable enough for a twenty-minute cut. In Solapur, life moves at its own pace, and we try to match that here. We see the same people every month, and now I’m even cutting the hair of the sons of my original customers. It makes me feel a bit old, but it’s a good feeling. The shop isn't very large, so it can get a bit tight when three or four people are waiting, but nobody seems to mind much. We talk about the rains or the market prices while I work the clippers. I try to keep the mirrors clean, though the dust from the street always finds its way in. It’s just a regular salon for regular people. There is no need for anything more than that. We open up in the morning, sweep the floor, and wait for the first customer to knock. That is how every day goes for us here in Solapur. There isn't much more to it than that, really.
