Nikhil Hair Saloon

Nikhil Hair Saloon is found in Solapur City, specifically at Ramlal Chauk in the 413007 area. It’s a familiar spot for many people who live around here. The shop has a large window that looks out onto the street, so there is plenty of natural light coming in during the day. We have the usual barber chairs that have seen a lot of use over the years. They might squeak a little when you sit down, but they are sturdy. Our days are filled with the sound of clippers and the occasional chatter from customers. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that; we just greet whoever walks through the door. The mirrors are large and take up most of one wall. We keep the combs and scissors on a small shelf within easy reach. Solapur can get quite dusty, so we are always dusting off the surfaces. There is no air conditioning, just a couple of fans that we keep running throughout the day. People come in, take a seat on the wooden bench, and wait for their turn. We don't try to be something we are not. It’s just a neighborhood hair saloon where we do our best to stay busy. Sometimes we share a tea with the regulars while the shop is quiet. It is a steady, simple way of living and working here at Ramlal Chauk. We just pack up and leave once the day is over.
