Kalika Indusrties

Being out here in the Baramati MIDC area means we are surrounded by factories and big workshops. Kalika Indusrties is over at E 33, which is pretty close to the Textile Park. You can hear the sounds of machinery from the other units throughout the entire day. It’s a very industrial part of town, so you won't see many trees. There is always a lot of dust in the air and trucks moving back and forth on the main roads. We started this place because we wanted to be in the heart of where things are actually produced. The space is mostly functional and not very pretty. We have the floor where we do the manual work and a small corner for the paperwork. It gets quite warm in the afternoons under the metal roof. We usually take our lunch breaks together and talk about whatever is in the local news. Baramati is growing, so there is always some new construction being built nearby. It isn't a glamorous job, but it’s steady and keeps us busy. We know the guards at the main gate and the delivery drivers who come by every week. Most days are about making sure the machines are running right. If something breaks, we usually just fix it ourselves. We aren't big on meetings or long emails. We just talk across the floor when something needs doing. It’s a straightforward life out here in the MIDC.
