Ambuja Cements Limited

Our office is located at F 8A in the ACL Colony within the Suli unit in Darlaghat. If you know the Solan district in Himachal Pradesh, you know it’s a hilly area with lots of winding roads. Being up here means the weather is usually a bit cooler than the plains, which is a nice change. We are part of the Ambuja Cements setup here. The colony is where a lot of us live and work, so it’s a tight-knit community. You see the same faces at the office and at the local shops. Work usually involves managing the day-to-day needs of the unit and making sure things are running smoothly. It’s a quiet life compared to the big cities. We spend our days looking over schedules and talking to the transport guys. The mountains are right there, so the view from the window is actually pretty good when the clouds aren't too low. Sometimes the rain makes the roads a bit tricky, but we are used to that. We don't have any fancy corporate stuff here, just basic offices with wooden desks and old files. It’s a practical place for practical people. We just do our jobs and help each other out when someone gets stuck. It’s been this way for years and we don't see it changing much. Life in the hills moves at its own pace and so does the work we do every day.
