About Dubbal Baghwani Producer Company Limited – Agriculture & Farming in Sirsa
Our place is out on the land, specifically at Khewat No. 104 in the Marana area. It’s easier to find if you know the Khasra and Killa numbers, though mostly people just know the track. We focus on baghwani, which is basically orchards and gardening. Most of us grew up watching our fathers and grandfathers plant trees here. It’s a lot of waiting for things to grow. You can’t rush a tree. We decided to put this company together so we could buy things in bulk and maybe get a better price when we sell the fruit. It’s just a group of us from the local rakba. We aren't some big city business. Half the time we are covered in dirt or trying to fix a pump that’s gone bad. The paperwork says Dubbal Baghwani, but to the neighbors, we’re just the guys with the trees. Managing an orchard takes a lot of patience. Sometimes the pests are bad, or the wind knocks everything down before it’s ripe. We talk about these things when we meet up at the plot. It’s a quiet life, mostly. We don’t have a big sign or anything. If you come by Rakba No. 8, you’ll see what we are doing. It’s hard work, and the sun is hot, but seeing the trees full makes it worth the trouble. We just try to help each other out.
