Kudal Hirlok Cashew Farmers Producer Company Limited

Up here in Hirlokparabwadi, we started the Kudal Hirlok Cashew Farmers Producer Company Limited. Our base is at Pandharinath Sawant’s house, which is right in the heart of our cashew-growing area. Growing cashews is a bit different from other types of farming, and it takes a lot of patience. We wait for the trees to bloom and then we have to be careful during the harvest season. Most of us in the group have a few trees on our land, so joining together seemed like the right thing to do. We spend a lot of time talking about the trees and the weather. Hirlok is a quiet place, and we like it that way. We aren't interested in being some big corporation with suits. We just want to make sure the cashews we grow get to the right buyers. Pandharinath helps keep us organized, though sometimes the paperwork gets a bit messy and takes time. It’s mostly just us neighbors sitting around and deciding what to do next. The roads around here can be rough, especially during the heavy monsoon rains, but we get the work done anyway. We don't use fancy words or have big formal meetings. We just meet up at the house, drink some tea, and talk about the harvest. It’s hard work, and your hands get dirty from the sap, but that’s just how it is. We are proud of our cashews and our little community in Hirlokparabwadi.
