Northern Escape is our place located near the National Highway. We are right by where the Hotels Slow Flick area is. It’s a bit of a different spot, being so close to the main road, but that makes it easy for travelers to find us. We spend our time looking after the property and making sure things are ready for guests. It’s not a five-star luxury setup with a bunch of staff in uniforms. It’s more of a regular place where we do a lot of the work ourselves. You’ll often find us fixing something or tidying up the common areas. Being near the highway means there is a constant sound of traffic, but you get used to it after a day or two. We started this because we liked the idea of having a spot for people to stop while they are on long journeys. The building has its quirks, like a door that sticks sometimes or a light that flickers, but we think it gives the place some character. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. Most of our guests are just people driving by who need a place to stay for a night. We keep the rooms clean and the coffee hot. It’s a simple life running a place like this. We just take things one day at a time and try to be helpful to anyone who stops in. We've been at this location for a while now and we know the rhythm of the highway traffic pretty well.
