Kurlekar Mahila Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is something we’re quite proud of here in Rahimatpur. We operate out of House No. 261, which belongs to Prakash Maruti Phalke. It’s right in the heart of the village in Taluka Koregaon. This is a group where the women take the lead in farming matters. Usually, farming is seen as a man's job, but here in Rahimatpur, we know the women do a huge amount of the labor. We decided it was time we had our own company to handle our produce. The house is always busy with people coming in and out, sharing news or asking for advice on crops. It’s not a professional office with cubicles; it’s a home where we do business. We talk about everything from the price of fertilizer to how the kids are doing in school. It’s a community effort. We struggle with the same things every farmer does, like the lack of rain or the high cost of transport. We don't have a big budget for fancy things. We just want to make sure the women farmers in Koregaon get a fair chance to sell what they grow. It’s hard work, and sometimes we feel like we’re learning as we go, but we’re doing it together and that’s what matters to us. Our focus is just on the daily grind and making sure everyone gets their fair share.
