Dahiwadi Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Dahiwadi, which is in the Man taluka of Satara district. We work out of Kiran Shamrao Jadhav’s place. The weather here is often dry and the ground is hard, so farming takes a lot of patience and luck. We are a group of local people who decided to join up so we could have more weight when we go to the market with our crops. Our office is not much to look at, just a room with some benches and a computer that sometimes works. We spend most of our time out where the crops are being grown or at the storage site. We deal with things like bajra, onions, and whatever else will grow in this dry soil. It is a lot of work to keep the company running alongside our own farms. We have to keep track of every bag and make sure everyone gets their fair share of the money. We are not corporate types in suits. Most of the time, we have mud on our boots and dust on our shirts. We do not make any big promises about the future of the industry. We just want to make sure we can sell our crops for a price that covers our costs for once. It is a simple goal, but it keeps us going through the seasons. We are just local farmers looking out for each other. That is our way.
