Agriqueen Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited

This company is run out of House No. 1303 in Tambave. Vaishali Ashok Patil is the one who handles a lot of it here. We are a group of women from the village who decided to work together. Farming in Karad is what we’ve always done, but doing it as a group makes more sense for us. We meet up at the house to talk about seeds and what we’re going to plant. It’s a lot of talking and figuring things out together. We don't have a big office building or anything like that. It’s just us in the village. Sometimes we sit outside and discuss the market prices. It’s hard to manage the house and the fields and the company all at once, but we do it. People call us Agriqueen, which sounds a bit fancy, but we are just local women working the soil. We want to make sure our families are okay. We help each other out when someone is falling behind. There’s no big boss here; we all just pitch in. Tambave is a small place, so everyone knows what we’re doing. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to get a better price for our crops. It’s honest work and we are proud of it. We just keep going, day by day, and see how the season turns out. It’s better than working alone, and the house is always full of life when we meet.
