Fivesparkagro Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in Mahadeonagar, Kolki, which is in the Phaltan area. You can find us at Sugam Suryakant Shaha’s place, at 52/2. It’s a local operation, nothing fancy about it. We are just farmers who realized that we could do a lot more if we worked as one unit instead of fighting for ourselves all the time. Phaltan has a good farming community, but we all face the same struggles with the markets and the costs of running a farm. Sugam helps keep us organized, but everyone involved has a say in what happens. We don't have a mission statement or any of that corporate stuff. We just want to be able to buy what we need at a price that doesn't break us and sell our harvests for what they’re actually worth. Most of our meetings happen while we're standing around a tractor or taking a break from the heat. We talk about what’s working and what isn't. It’s practical, everyday stuff. We aren't looking to become some massive enterprise; we just want to make life a bit more stable for the people living and working here in Mahadeonagar. There are good days and bad days, but we keep pushing forward because that’s what farmers do. We trust our hands and we trust our neighbors.
