Dighra Farmers Producer Company Limited

Dighra Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of Dinesh Mahto’s house in the village of Patepurgopinath. We are right in the Thahra panchayat, which is part of the Pusa block here in Samastipur. Pusa is known for its agricultural stuff, but we are just local guys from the Tola. It’s a small group of us farmers who thought it would be better to work as a company. The village is pretty small, and you have to go through some narrow lanes to get to us. Dinesh’s house is where we keep all our records and meet up to discuss what to plant next. Sometimes the meetings go on for a long time because everyone has a different opinion on the soil or the seeds. Samastipur has its ups and downs with the weather, but we manage. We aren't a big corporation with fancy suits. Most of the time we are wearing our work clothes and covered in a bit of mud. It’s a practical way to live. We don't spend money on fancy things, just what we need for the farms. Being in Patepurgopinath means we are close to our fields, which is good. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of. It is just a group of farmers trying to figure out the best way forward in a changing world while keeping our feet on the ground.
