Benipur Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is located in Benipur, over at Mahinam in the Panchupatti area. Ganesh Pd Sah is the one who helps keep us organized. We’re a farmer producer company, which basically means we’re just a bunch of local growers trying to work as one. Benipur is where we were raised and where we farm. The land here has been in some of our families for a long time. We handle different kinds of crops depending on what’s needed in the local markets. It’s a lot of physical labor. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that, just a place to meet and talk business in Mahinam. We try to help our members get their seeds and tools without having to travel too far or pay too much. Sometimes the market prices are low and it’s tough, but that’s part of the job. We aren't trying to sell anyone a dream. We are just trying to sell our grain and vegetables. It’s a simple setup. If you come through this part of Bihar, you’ll see us working in the fields. We value the help we get from each other because farming alone is just too difficult these days. We’re just trying to keep the tradition of farming in Benipur alive and well for everyone involved. We focus on the daily tasks and don't worry too much about the rest of the world.
